Muchene presents to you the lovely Jane Kendi, a Kenyan-born model that's a finalist in the Miss Africa Belgium contest.Kendi was born in Kenya, but grew up in Belgium. Kendi says she is filled with love and pride of Kenya, despite growing up in the western world where most of the immigrants’ cultures have been eroded and influenced by the west. Her love for Kenya and Africa in general led her to participate in the pageant.
The title of Miss Africa Belgium, would also give her an opportunity to be a role model for Africa. “Miss Africa means a lot to me - a young girl growing up in the trappings of the western world where most of our culture has been eroded and influenced by the surroundings we find ourselves in has been given a chance of winning the crown and make her childhood dreams and wishes come true.” She also adds that any girl who wins the pageant has to be classy-yet down to earth, good mannered, and who is also not only beautiful but radiates a magic charm from her that is filled with kindness.
Kendi Jane will be competing against other African models in the final gala to be held on June 8, 2013 in Liege, Belgium. Check out her facebook page here.

The Law school of University of Nairobi will be holding its annual cultural week that includes the very popular UoN Parklands pageant. The Parklands cultural week will be held between 26th-30th November with the beauty pageant being held on 30th November. Future lawyers in sexy attire – I think that’s out of fantasy land!  Nadege Uwamahoro fondly known as Nana by her fans and friends is the proprietor of Nana Events. Born in Bwiza, Burundi in 1990 Nadege later moved to Rwanda with her parents. 
Nadege Uwamahoro is a model and an Event Organizer who has started Nana Events, a company in charge of organizing different events which according to her, has been her long time dream. 
The 22 year old whose favourite color is black, says her favorite fashion model is Beverly Johnson, a lady who also happened to be the first African American model to be on the cover of American Vogue magazine. 
She says her favourite dish is meat, rice and French-fries. Wow! A model that actually eats!
