1. The welcome introduction of Malaga! I am a bit taken by this La Liga team right now. They not only managed to qualify from the Group phase in their maiden run in the Champions League, but they did so with two games to spare against 7 time champions AC Milan! And along with Juventus and Borussia Dortmund, remain the only unbeaten sides going into the Round of 16. This is after they had to sell their star players, striker Rondon and creative player Santi Carzola, in the summer. Roberto Di Matteo was made caretaker manager of Chelsea FC in March 2012 after Andre Villas-Boas was sacked and led Chelsea to Champions League glory, beating Bayern Munich to claim the trophy for the first time in the club's history. A few weeks later he was given the job on a permanent basis on a two-year contract but had to become used to speculation linking several big names to the Chelsea job. However, that did not deter Di Matteo and his stock could hardly have been higher in the early weeks of the season as the European champions won seven and drew one of their opening eight English Premier League games. The midfield trio of Eden Hazard, Oscar and Juan Mata were combining in eye-catching fashion and even the much-maligned Torres looked something like his old self. The stuff of dreams! We all hear stories of how EPL players are paid ridiculous amounts of cash, and one footballer proved it by using cash as toilet paper. Liam Ridgwell of West Brom took a picture of himself wiping his ass with £20 notes with lots more lying at his feet.
Ridgewell said it was private prank between him and his pal and the pic was never meant to go public. “The photo was taken in the privacy of my home around eight months ago as a joke to wind up a mate, who I had just won a personal bet with. I only intended him to see the photo but now it’s public, I can understand how it will be viewed. I am sorry for any offence it causes.”
Ridgewell earns about 2.8m weekly and his team is flying high at the moment in 5th place in the English Premier League. But even his teammates didn't see the funny side to the story and trashed his locker with toilet paper.

 It is the gift and curse of hosting a World Cup. The tournament is held in your country with your stadiums and your fans. You have the proverbial 12th man, but his cousin, the 13th man, also comes along as literally the entire country gets behind the national team. Nothing quite fosters camaraderie and national unity like an international competition being hosted locally. The French national team has won three international tournaments.
